What Will You Learn in the Program?

Curriculum review and changes are under the purview of the faculty and would be undertaken from time to time to ensure the program coverage is in line with industry requirements.

Module 01 | Fundamentals of Nutrition Science

This module lays the scientific foundation of the program, covering the foundations of nutrition science, research methods, metabolism, nutrient quality, and emerging areas like precision nutrition and the gut microbiome. Learners develop skills to critically evaluate nutrition evidence, understand how dietary patterns affect health, and assess the validity of digital health tools.

Week 1: Foundations of Applied Nutrition Science and Metabolism

- Why Nutrition Science Is Challenging: Methods, Measurement, and Bias - Interpreting Gold-Standard Nutrition Research: RCTs, Cohort Studies, Meta-analyses - An Overarching Guide to Glucose, Fatty Acid Oxidation, and Energy Metabolism-

Week 2: From Nutrient Quality to Global Dietary Patterns

- Understanding Macronutrient Sources and Quality: Carbohydrates (Whole Grains, Fiber, Resistant Starch, Glycemic Index and Load), Fat Quality (SFA, PUFA, MUFA, Trans Fats; Lipid Profiles), and Protein (Plant Versus Animal Sources) - Global Benchmarks for Essential Micronutrients and Nutrients of Concern (Sugar, Sodium, and Trans Fats) in the Current Landscape - Dietary Patterns With Strong Evidence for Chronic Disease Prevention: Deconstructing the Mediterranean, DASH, Plant-based, and Asian Diets for Scalability

Week 3: Precision Nutrition and the Microbiome

- Introduction to Precision Nutrition: Definitions, Promise, and Current Evidence - The Gut Microbiome: Composition, Function, and Diet - Measuring the Individual: Omics, Genomics, and Digital Tools - Evidence, Critical Appraisal, and the Consumer Landscape

Module 02 | Applied Nutrition Across the Lifespan and Weight Management

This module applies nutrition science across the lifespan, covering chronic disease prevention, metabolic health, age-specific needs, and modern weight management in the GLP-1 era. Learners gain skills to design integrated dietary strategies, create age-appropriate nutrition frameworks, and critically evaluate weight loss protocols.

Week 4: Metabolic Health and Chronic Disease Defense

- The Link Between Dietary Patterns, Systemic Inflammation, and Aging - Evidence-Based Dietary Strategies for Lipid Management, Chronic Disease Prevention, and Glycemic Control - The Emerging Field of Nutritional Psychiatry, Mental Health and Cognition
